June Message

June is upon us and the summer heat is coming. We have an active calendar this month as we continue our planning for Father’s Day (Pops for Pops), VBS and celebrate the successful start of our new Awana program.

I was asked to come here on Father’s Day 2020 to re-open the church after being shut down for Covid-19 for three months. Many people were timid and uncertain of the threat of Covid-19. Some of our families suffered with it and quarantined for the appropriate time. So, we adjusted our church to include social distancing, the wearing of masks, communion and offering procedures were adjusted and fist bumps were common.

I applaud your efforts and dedication to this church! I witnessed gentleness, loving kindness and a caring for others ahead of yourselves. The love that Debie and I experienced from this church throughout our 33 years of being associated with this church, never once let up…never once gave up. You are to be commended for the careful, thoughtful, prayerful leadership that has been displayed.

I would like for every member to do their very best to make Father’s Day a day of celebration not only for our fathers but also the anniversary of our church reopening. Let’s try to come together again as a church and celebrate Jesus together on this day.

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
