March 2022

Greetings, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We are encouraged to keep our eyes on Jesus each and every day as we journey through the Lenten season and onward to the cross.  We serve a risen Savior and He desires to be active in our everyday lives as we seek to serve Him.

The Son of Man must suffer many terrible things, He said.  He will be rejected by the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law.  He will be killed, but on the third day He will be raised from the dead.”  Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow Me.”

Luke 9:22-23

To help us accomplish this, we have purchased a daily devotion for each of you to read and stay close to God throughout the 40 days of Lent.  These are available at the Welcome Center in our lobby.

In addition to these readings, we have a special Ash Wednesday Service planned on March 2. This will feature our AWANA children leading this service and is certain to prepare our hearts for the Easter season. This service will begin at 7:30 in our sanctuary and all are encouraged to attend.

Just a reminder, Daylight Savings Time begins on March 13. We will be setting our clocks forward one hour on that day.  Spring begins on March 20 and will be a time to think about warmer weather and planting those flowers.

As we all read God’s Word each day, I pray that you will discover God’s peace…even in the midst of our global conflict in Russia and Ukraine. We, as God’s people, need to be vigilant in praying for our brothers and sisters in those war-torn areas.

May God bless you and your families!

Your friend in Christ,

Greg
