Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.John 15:5
First and foremost, our worship services are in place so we can be fed spiritual food and to make evident in our lives the fruit of the Spirit. Worship also strengthens us for the days ahead. We, on our own (as branches) will wither without the sustenance of the Vine (Jesus). If we isolate from Him and His church we are bound to wither and die.
Secondly, the volunteer opportunities are in place to mature our faith and share our walk with Jesus with our fellow Christians and with the community around us. Just as Jesus said in John 15:5, “apart from me you can do nothing”. So, come to VBS in Jesus name, feed the homeless in Jesus name, fellowship in Jesus name and bring glory and honor to God. Give God the glory for every outcome, whether it be the number of backpacks given to the school kids or the number of meals given to the homeless, allow your volunteering to all be done in His name and for His sake. Because of the Vine, we can enjoy success and be blessed in all we do in July.
And finally, we want to remember our spiritual growth in the giving our tithe. Again, we can do nothing apart from Him, so as we remain committed to give, we are remembering that every dollar was provided by Him and every person touched by those dollars are touched through us by Him.
I pray that you will be blessed as we worship, and serve in July by the awesome power of our Vine.
Your friend in Christ,
