December 2022 Message

“My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked with favor on the lowliness of His servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for the Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is His name.”

Luke 1:46-49

December is a time of celebration and a time of renewal. As we read the beautiful response from Mary, the mother of Jesus, I hope that our response will be as resounding as hers in response to the coming of Christ. We have much to celebrate and be thankful for here at First Christian Church.

We recently hosted thirteen principals for the Haysville Ministerial Association Principals Luncheon. I must let you know that our church was very welcoming and the perfect venue for this event. I would like to thank Peggy Smith, Paul Smith, Linda Bergeson and Pat Falley for the high quality meal and setting for this event. In our visioning meeting in October, it was discussed that our facility should be a hub for the community to have access to. This event did just that and it will be long remembered.

We also are very happy to announce that we have a new Administrative Assistant. Saundra (Sandy) Hartness has begun her new role here at First Christian Church and I hope you will try to stop by and welcome her. She brings many years of experience to the role and is simply a delightful person to have on staff.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the AWANA Christmas program on December 14 th. Everyone is invited to come that evening and simply be there for our kids in AWANA. You will not be disappointed in what they have in store for you. Jesus is the center of all that is done in AWANA and He will be lifted on high and lift our spirits as we enter into Christmas week. Debie and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and pray that God’s blessings will be with you and your families.
