Recently, I suggested that the “Acts of the Apostles” should be rephrased to say, “The Acts of the Holy Spirit”. I did not say this to suggest that the Apostles were not involved but rather the source of “POWER” is none other than the Holy Spirit. The Apostles were weak, like us…fearful, like us…hard headed. They needed a power larger and greater than the Roman Empire itself and they indeed found it in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
Too many times we come to obstacles in our road that are so enormous that we cower in fear and run the other way. Just like the Apostles who faced some very extreme obstacles that threatened their very lives, we find ourselves in need of a power that is beyond our own. We struggle with our circumstances and even mount up and try to do battle with them, only to find ourselves in even deeper trouble than before.
I want to introduce you to real power. This power will help you to right size your obstacle or mine. The Power of the Holy Spirit is the unlimited power of God and it dwarfs any obstacle that we may encounter in our lives.
” Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday….The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name.”– Psalm 91:5-6, 14
We are to “Trust in My name” says the Lord, and fully believe that He has gone to battle for us when we pray to Him and stand in peace for His might works on our behalf. Our obstacles will be conquered because they are dwarfed by the Holy Spirit. Every Christian possesses this power and God simply desires for us to trust in Him and receive the victory in our lives.
Your friend in Christ,
